Why Equity in the Center?
Testimonials
I really appreciated this workshop. It’s helpful to have some guidance on assessing where we are as an organization – and what goes into that assessment. Even if there are limitations to self-assessment.
I searched long and deliberately and when I finally found EiC’s publication, it was exact and fully resonated with how I wanted to lead this work in this organization of which I am a new team member responsible for codifying systems that I wanted to ensure were steeped in equity.
It helped us to better understand how the process can help non-profits and other agenices utilize the information to move forward.
I am eager to build a plan of action and budget for this work. Thanks so much for being bold, unapologetic and assuring as you brought this brilliant piece of work to life with and for us in these sessions.
Thank you! You did a great job! I feel very prepared to continue the converstation and act within my organization to advance race equity.
The course was excellent. Appreciated our facilitator and had a great discussion with my breakout group.
I had adopted the EiC publication for our annual retreat in October, so having that unpacked more was helpful, especially as other managers from my organization were along with me for the training to garner understanding at a deepened level.
This workshop introduced a clear framework for discussing the stages of moving to racial equity and strategies/descriptions of how to do that.
Upcoming Workshop Dates and Cost
Equity in the Center is updating service pricing to a tiered pricing model beginning April 2022 to better align with best practices among equity-focused organizations. We ask that organizations purchasing tickets on behalf of their staff purchase tickets in the tier that aligns with your organizational budget and sector. For individuals purchasing tickets for yourself, we ask that people with greater privilege purchase tickets at the higher end, which will allow individuals with historically less access to wealth, disproportionately BIPOC folks, to pay the lower fees.
Note: Individual Ticket sales close 12 days before the first session. Organization ticket sales close 1 month before the first session.
If you have any questions about the Open Enrollment session, please email Workshops@equityinthecenter.org.

Please note that should an organization enroll in the open enrollment sessions, it will not be tailored to their organization. However, you will have the opportunity to have team-focused discussions in breakout groups.
What can I expect if I register 15 or more people as a team?
Since these sessions are open to the general public, your employees will be in the same “room” as others who have registered for the workshop. When participants are split into breakout groups, your employees will be in rooms with one another (4 people per room). Should you want larger breakout sessions for your employees, you may request it (max 6 people per breakout room). However, it is strongly recommended that you hold team-wide follow-up discussions after the workshop to discuss next steps for making progress on building a Race Equity Culture.
Review our Open Enrollment Policy for more infromation.
I’m an independent consultant, can I use the Race Equity Cycle and what I learn in this training in my work?
Independent consultants can cite our Race Equity Cycle framework (as they would any other analysis by Race Equity Institute or Change Elemental for example), but they cannot provide consulting services based on it, train on the content, or market their services as “Race Equity Culture services.” However, a consultant can take the Race Equity “cog” from our publication and include it as part of a presentation (thus citing it). Furthermore, you may give the publication to clients as a pre-read for a meeting, or as a resource/learning tool to reference (for a CDO or other executive leading this work). You may absolutely share it as a resource to help organizations understand what their race equity work should look like. If you are an independent consultant, you will be asked to complete a form confirming these terms before participating in the workshop.
